Cheerful UK is a London-based record label which opened its doors in January 2023. We are headquartered in Shenzhen and with financial backing from technology giant Tencent Music, we pride ourselves not only on our financial infrastructure but also discovering and nurturing the freshest young talent, providing effective promotion, marketing and artist development.
Our Mission
Whilst the development of social media and technology has indelibly changed the landscape of the music industry, this current streaming era nevertheless provides an opportunity for artists and fans to create, share and listen to music around the world like never before. Our mission is to utilise this whilst also paying attention to the need for developing loyal, engaged fanbases in the physical world.
Our Founder
Cheerful Music was established by Snow.J in 2019. Since its inception, Cheerful's goal has always been to support its artists to launch and grow their careers. Snow.J has been a professional singer and songwriter for over a decade, investing time to ensure commercial and viral success for her music.
With the ongoing social media revolution and rapid rise in the popularity of short-form video, Snow.J saw an opportunity to help artists reach fans they might otherwise not have been able to reach and thus Cheerful Music was born.
Our Advisor
Feng Zhu is the MBA Class of 1958 Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. He is an expert on platform strategy, digital innovation and transformation. His research has won many international awards and has been featured in prominent media outlets such as the Washington Post, Financial Times, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Professor Zhu serves as an advisor to several startups and has provided consulting services to Meta, Microsoft, Uber, Google, Amazon, and other large organizations. Professor Zhu earned his Ph.D. in science, technology and management and a master’s in computer science at Harvard University. As part of Cheerful Music's plan to expand its global presence, Feng Zhu became an advisor to Cheerful Music in 2024 to assist its global expansion.
